The Power of Fungi

During our
first visit to the head water my fascination with the variety of fungi flourished. Over the last week, I collected several photos of these unusual decomposers, which are included below. Today while surfing ted.com I came across a talk on the significance of the role of fungi in the natural world as hope for a more sustainable future. Stamets holds so inviting possibilities for utilizing the characteristics of fungi to clean up pollution and aid in alternative energy.

I think you will find this talk both relevant and inspiring.
